DayCue ("DayCue," "we," "us") helps you remember the birthdays, milestones, and moments that matter to the people in your life, and gives you a head start on reaching out. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using DayCue you agree to this policy.

Information you provide

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from that provider instead of a password.
• People you add. To remind you to reach out, you add details about your friends and family — their names, your relationship to them, the dates you want to remember, and optionally a phone number. You are responsible for ensuring you have a proper basis to store information about other people.
• Content you create. Message templates and the reminders ("cues") you set up.

Information collected automatically

Like most online services, our hosting and database providers automatically record basic technical data — such as your IP address, browser or device type, and timestamps — for security, debugging, and reliable operation. We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use your information

• To provide DayCue: surfacing upcoming dates, generating reminders, and pre-filling messages.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
• To send essential service communications (for example, security or account notices). We do not send marketing email without your consent.

How messages are sent

DayCue does not send text messages on your behalf. When you choose to message someone, DayCue prepares the text and hands it to your device's own Messages or share function — you review and send it yourself. We do not transmit your messages to their recipients or store a record of what you send.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads. We share data only in these limited cases:

• Service providers that operate DayCue on our behalf: Neon (database hosting), Vercel (application hosting), and Google and Apple (only when you choose to sign in with them). These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
• Legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or DayCue.
• Business transfers, if DayCue is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove your personal information and the people, cues, and templates associated with your account, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.

Your rights and choices

You can review and update most of your information directly in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at the email below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including encryption of data in transit and hashing of passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to address issues promptly.

Children

DayCue is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

DayCue is operated from the United States, and your information is processed there. If you access DayCue from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
